(Kind of Not Safe For Work.)
So what is Simon Belmont doing in this episode of Captain N: The Game Master, and why is he so happy about it? Why, he’s milking a cow, of course! What did you think, you sickos?!

Okay, is it just me, or did anyone else think “Asari on Ice” when the pair from Ukraine stepped into the rink on Sunday at the Winter Olympics? Too much Mass Effect for me, I think…

I didn’t make anything this time, but I just want to say that I like my new shirt. ‘Tis shiny and ’twas only $10!

With my new camera in hand, I headed to the rain-soaked Happiest Place on Earth to get some shots for the first ever Photography Phalooza.

For the last couple of days, I’ve been up in the mountains to photograph a wedding, and I refused to leave without having made a snowman. I realized I was wearing two items that Parappa wears, the hat and sneakers, but everything else is found. He’s got acorn eyes, a rock nose and trashbag ears, hahaha. By the way, I had to shovel snow for the first time in my life, and I can now sympathize (a little teeny bit) with you cold-weather-dwellers. Kudos to you. Now get out, why the hell do you live there?! You can’t be like Parappa and be all, “You gotta believe! That you’re not dying of hypothermia!” Ugh. It’s good to be home.

Welcome! To those of you who have been with us before, welcome back! To the latter, you may notice that Level 99 has undergone a major makeover, and a complete content-management-system overhaul; consequently, old links will probably be broken, and I implore that you update our RSS feed in your bookmarks and aggregators. After a tough time with web servers and domain name changeovers, and moving the entire archive manually by myself, I hope that we will settle well, and hopefully for a long while, in our new home. We also invite you to overstay your welcome as much as you like. There’s plenty of food in the pantry, and our archives are somewhat extensive enough to keep you occupied for a while. Make yourselves at home…just, ya’ know, take off your shoes or my mom will yell at me.
To those of you who have been following us for a while, you guys are awesome, and I send you warm internet hugs. We’ve been around (on and off ) for 4 years now, and I want to be around longer. Level 99 has always been something I’ve loved doing, and I want to continue it, regardless if life or whatever else gets in the way every once in a while. In the mean time, the forums are upgraded and are open again. Thanks to UltraMagnus, who helped me migrate the forum while I was busy with the archives. Thanks again for all the support, and I hope to see you guys around. =)

On today’s News Roundup, Take Two sues Duke Nukem Devs, Kojima’s Production still silent on what their new game is, and dev house Factor 5 closes its doors.
Take Two’s going to kick ass and chew gum… and they’re all out of gum
The videogame industry has had a major joke over the past 10 years, with Duke Nukem Forever being in development for those entire 10 years. Always said to be “coming shortly”, the project never saw the light of day with 3D Realms closing its doors last week. Apparently, Take Two Interactive didn’t like the joke after all this time and decided to sue 3D realms for breach of contract. Considering the after all this time and money, which at this point was somewhere in the sum of over 10 million dollars for development, I would sue the pants off of these guys too. Details of the suit were not disclosed, but you can bet you’re going to hear more about this in the coming weeks.
Just tell us already…
I hate hype. Usually it builds, builds, and builds, only to disappoint. Such will most likely be the case with the latest website teaser being shown by Kojima Productions. If you want to look at it, you can find it here: http://www.konami.jp/kojima_pro/next/
I wouldn’t expect the announcement to be more than a new Metal Gear game, or Metal Gear on the X360. Either way, I’m not buying into the teaser yet.
RIP Factor 5
It’s official, Factor 5 studios has closed it’s doors. The San Rafael-based studio has been rumored to be in trouble since last December, and it looks as if today that all the rumors have come true. Trouble started when Brash Entertainment went the way of the do-do, and then Factor 5 lost their Superman project. It’s just a sign of the times though, as I expect to see more third party devs not shacked up with a big name (ie, Activision, EA) to die off just like Factor 5. Adios Factor 5, we’ll always have Rogue Squardron.
We’ll see you next time on the News Roundup.

Since the war of Iraq started film studios have tired to create good films based on the Iraq war, and most of them turn out to suck. I believe that most studios do not want to create a film that is too edgy about Iraq because they do not want to offend any one. This is what I thought The Hurt Locker would be, that is, until I saw the trailer for the film earlier this year. The trailer was amazing and I enjoyed the director, Kathryn Bigelow’s, other film Point Break. What is interesting about this film is that it is not totally about the war in Iraq, but rather the people that are involved in it. Read the full review after the jump.

I have to start off by expressing that I am a fan of the first Transformers film. Even though there are some major faults with the film, but I still find myself enjoying it every time I watch it. With that being expressed, I thought Michael Bay would fix some of the problems that the first film had in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but it turns out that I was expecting too much from Bay. What Bay does is keep the same problems that the first film had and add on top of it. Read what these problems are after the jump. There are a few things wrong with the first film, and in TROTF Bay does not fix any of these problems. One of the problems with the first film is that there are too many human characters, so what does Bay do in TROTF? He introduces the same human characters again and adds a couple of more on top of that. All I want to see is robots kicking each other’s asses. That is it. I do not care about Sam’s (Shia LeBeouf) new college friend, Leo (Ramon Rodriguez). Rodriguez’s character does not add any thing to the story, but instead his character just irritated me. I just wanted Rodriguez’s character to be killed, but to my misfortune, does not happen.
