1) The Descent
One of the best horror films in the past 20 years. I watch this movie about twice a year still, so go see this film people.
2) Orfanato, El (The Orphanage)
One of my favorite del Toro movies. Unlike any horror film you will ever see.
3) 28 Days Later
I am a sucker for zombie films, and this one is no exception.
4) The Hills Have Eyes
I thought I would never say this, but the The Hills Have Eyes remake is better than the original movie.
5) Shaun of the Dead
I know people will say that this is a comedy, not a horror movie, but this film does such a great job at creating horror elements and making fun of the genre.
6) Final Destination
A movie with a cool concept and fun to watch. Has some pretty neat death scenes as well.
7) The Others
The ending to this movie is a trip and I love me some Nicole Kidman.
8) Saw
I know I wrote that I am not a huge fan of torture porn films, but I really do like the first Saw movie. I also liked Saw 2, but the rest of the Saw series has gone down hill and has become a joke.
9) The Ring
I believe that the Japaneses version is better but when I saw this film in theaters I was very surprised, because it turned out to be pretty good. The best part is in the last scene of the film. I will not give it away, but it spooked the hell out of me.
10) Dawn of the Dead
Like I said before, I am a sucker for zombie movies, and if Romero is behind it then count me in. This is another remake that was well done, but not better than the first one.

Ya know, we thought about getting a Halloween strip up for Tuesday or the update day closest to the actual event, but then we thought, “Well, why be like everyone else? Why give in to the status quo? Dude, its not even a real holiday!” So, here you go.

I’m headed off to Vegas this weekend, but if you “gnome” the forums (Troll means something different here), you know it’s not for gambling or drinking or… whores… well, unless you count writers. It’s LitCon: Vegas ‘06, baby, and you aren’t going! How lame are you?!

I want to leave you with a couple of things while I’m gone:

1) Guitar Hero II is the sex. Be sure to pick it up on the 7th.

2) If there was any confusion about the Gears of War launch, it’s official launch “event” is Sunday the 12th, but it ships on the 7th and is not street dated, so pick that bitch up on the afternoon of the 8th. I’ll be rockin’ some alien buttocks online in co-op first thing.

3) Child’s Play is up and running. Want to prove you have a soul? Yes, you do.

4) I was checking out the Christian Game Developer’s Foundation website hoping for a big dose of crazy and came across this: Plain Games’ review of Oblivion. It’s actually kinda good. I was bummed. But then I realized that mine was better!Huzzah!

5) I love forums.

Sometimes, this is what it feels like. Yes, we’re harping on Sony again. That’s because, yes, they keep doing stuff worth despising. They stop and I’ll shut up. Either way, whatever they did worked. edit: “breaking” news.

I went to a couple of parties on Saturday night dressed as Dr. McNinja. One of those parties was my brother’s and I just knew no one there would have any idea who I was supposed to be. So I took off my balaclava and came in as just a doctor. Here’s a tip: when you go to a party full of perverted schoolgirls and playboy bunnies, you can be guaranteed that there will be at least four doctors there — probably two or three naughty nurses, too. So… grudgingly, I put the mask back on. I swear to God, every last person there called me “Dr. Ninja.” My name was written on a freaking nametag. This payed off, though, not much later that night, when a young boy asked me what I was supposed to be. I didn’t bother telling anyone about the webcomic because my brother and his friends don’t even read mine, but I figured at least I could tell him my name. Before I could get out the first syllable, he shouted at me:

“I DON’T GET YOU!!”

Best part of the night.
